Rasmus Hojlund has completed a temporary move from Manchester United to Napoli for the rest of the season.
The agreement features a mandatory purchase clause, which will see the Italian titleholders secure the Danish forward on a full-time basis next summer for £38m.
At 22 years old, Hojlund departs after struggling to establish himself under new boss Ruben Amorim. His previous campaign yielded only four league goals, and he has not featured in any of the club’s first four fixtures this term.
Signed from Atalanta in 2023 for £72m, the striker had wished to continue at Old Trafford but was pushed aside after new attacking arrivals Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were brought in.
Antony completes transfer to La Liga side
Brazilian winger Antony has sealed a five-year deal with Real Betis after impressing during a loan stint last season, when he netted nine goals in 26 matches and played a part in their run to the Conference League final.
Betis agreed to pay €22m (£19.06m) with an additional €3m (£2.59m) in potential bonuses. The contract also includes a 50% future sell-on clause, and United are not required to pay any compensation to the player.
The 25-year-old joined United from Ajax in 2022 for £81.3m, becoming the second-most expensive purchase in the club’s history. Across 62 Premier League games, he managed five goals and three assists but could not convince Amorim of his value.
Although a police case concerning domestic abuse allegations was dropped, Antony’s form never met expectations, and he was judged surplus to requirements alongside Hojlund.
Young full-back sent out on loan
Teenage defender Harry Amass has also left Old Trafford temporarily, joining Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
The England youth international marked his first-team debut on his 18th birthday earlier this year during a Premier League away victory at Leicester City. He went on to feature in six further senior appearances last season.
Speaking about the loan, Amass expressed his excitement at the opportunity, stating he is determined to perform consistently and showcase his qualities each week.
