Arsenal v Hull City preview: leaders host winless Hull at the Emirates

Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 7 November (3pm) as Premier League leaders, hosting 11th-placed Hull City in Gameweek 10 of the 2026-27 season.

Leaders against a side in the middle

Arsenal have won eight of their nine league games and sit top with 24 points and a goal difference of +9. Hull City are 11th with 11 points from nine, having won two, with a goal difference of +1.

Arsenal's last five include four wins: 1-0 at Liverpool, 2-0 against Everton, 1-0 at Nottingham Forest and 2-1 against Leeds United. The exception was a 3-0 defeat at Brighton.

Hull have not won in their last five. They have drawn three (2-2 with Ipswich Town, 1-1 with Brentford and 2-2 with Everton) and lost two, 1-0 at Fulham and 2-1 at Newcastle.

What the numbers say

Arsenal average 1.56 goals per game and concede 0.56, and they have kept six clean sheets. Their points per game stands at 2.67. Hull score 1.22 per game, concede 1.11, have three clean sheets and average 1.22 points per game.

Expected goals data via Fantasy Premier League, which measures the quality of chances created and conceded, points the same way. Arsenal's figures are 1.65 for and 0.81 against per game. Hull's are 1.02 for and 1.48 against.

Among Arsenal's players, Saka leads with 3.63 expected goals and three goals. Havertz has three goals from 2.78 expected, while Ødegaard has two from 2.16. For Hull, McBurnie has 2.22 expected goals, two goals and three assists. Belloumi has three goals and three assists.

Discipline is another contrast. Hull have 25 yellow cards this season, Arsenal 14.

Availability

FPL lists Saka as injured with a thigh problem, a 0% chance of playing and no return date. He is Arsenal's top player by expected goals and their first-choice penalty taker on FPL's data.

Hull have a longer list. FPL has Hughes, Targett, Ansah, Matazo and Gyabi as injured with no return dates. It lists goalkeeper Butland as doubtful with an arm injury, 50% chance of playing, and Gourna-Douath as doubtful with a calf problem, 75% chance of playing.

Crooks is due to serve a one-match ban after five league bookings, as worked out from the cards. McBurnie, who is Hull's first-choice penalty taker on FPL's data, is one booking from a ban, with four league bookings.

Head to head and prediction

There are no recent meetings between the sides in the data, so form and the season's numbers are the best guide.

MFF's match model predicts a 1-0 Arsenal win. It gives Arsenal a 62% chance of victory, with 24% for a draw and 14% for a Hull City win.
