Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro has expressed his pride following rumors linking him to Real Madrid, as the Spanish club seeks a long-term replacement for the injured Dani Carvajal. With Carvajal sidelined for the rest of the 2024/25 season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Los Blancos are reportedly considering several candidates, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Porro.

The 25-year-old Spaniard, who has impressed fans with his attacking contributions at Spurs, acknowledged the rumors during an interview with Relevo, sharing his thoughts on the speculation.

When asked about Madrid’s reported interest, Porro admitted it felt rewarding, indicating that such attention reflects the quality of his performances. “It fills you with excitement,” he explained. “When a club like Real Madrid is mentioned in connection with your name, it shows you’re doing something right.”

Despite the rumors, Porro remains focused on his current club, saying he approaches each day with the same determination. “If that moment has to come, it will come. And if it doesn’t, I’ll keep working hard as I have been.” His comments highlight his grounded approach despite the high-profile speculation surrounding his future.

Since joining Tottenham, Porro has faced both praise and criticism, particularly in the defensive department. After a difficult start during Antonio Conte’s final months at the club, his attacking ability quickly stood out. He scored three goals in his first 17 matches for Spurs, showcasing his creativity going forward.

Under current manager Ange Postecoglou, Porro has firmly established himself as Tottenham’s starting right-back. He has contributed three goals and seven assists in Postecoglou’s debut season at the club, further boosting his reputation. Reflecting on whether he’s prepared to take the next step in his career, Porro confidently stated: “Yes, I am ready. A few years ago, I might have said no, but now, with more experience, I feel I could make that leap.”

For now, Porro remains focused on helping Spurs while keeping an eye on what the future may hold.
