Welcome to the detailed coverage of the Men’s Football Tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. This prestigious event, taking place from 21 July to 7 August 2021, marks the 27th edition of the men’s Olympic football tournament. Alongside the Women’s football tournament, the 2020 Summer Olympics football tournament is being hosted in six vibrant cities across Japan, including the Olympic host city, Tokyo. The grand finale was held at the International Stadium in Yokohama, a venue known for its electrifying atmosphere.

Due to the postponement of the Olympics, the age limit for the Men’s competition was raised to under-24 years (born on or after 1 January 1997) instead of the usual under-23 years. This allowed a new generation of footballers to showcase their skills on the global stage. However, each team was still permitted to include a maximum of 3 over-age players, adding an interesting dynamic to the competition.
