Erik Ten Hag believes that Marcus Rashford would realize his potential at Manchester United. In recent weeks, the England international has been getting the goals for the Red Devils.

Once upon a time, it was rare to talk about Manchester United as a club catching up with the top clubs. The reason was the Red Devils were the peak of English football. They dominated the scene for so long and defined the Premier League. They had world-class players in almost every position. Things are different these days for the Old Trafford side.

It is sad to see the once-great club celebrating small victories in the name of improvement. It is how low the club has dropped. They are no longer in the conversation of Premier League contenders. They have become what they detested – a top-four finish has become a massive success.

The arrival of Erik Ten Hag seems to have revitalized the club, as they aim to finish in the top four and win silverware of any shade. Ten Hag is impressed with some players on his side, including Marcus Rashford. The England international has hit a rich vein of form and scoring goals, but Ten Hag wants him to remain at Old Trafford to realise his potential.

Ten Hag tells Rashford to remain at Old Trafford

Manchester United are no longer one of the top dogs in the Premier League. It is why Erik Ten Hag was signed – to help return the Red Devils to their glory days. Things have not been working for the Old Trafford side, as winning trophies has become an anathema to them. They seem more content with minor victories in battle than winning the war.

Following the recent surge in form by Marcus Rashford, Ten Hag is keen to keep the forward at Old Trafford. The Dutch manager has urged the England international to remain at Old Trafford because he wants to turn them into the best team in the world. Ten Hag believes he has the ingredients to make Man United a force in England, Europe and the world.

Rashford has become the arrowhead of the progress the club has made recently. United is in fourth place on the log, with Rashford emerging as the top scorer for the Red Devils. Ten Hag believes the team can help him realize his potential and become a world-class forward. The Englishman made it ten goals in ten games as United dispatched Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first leg of their EFL Semifinal fixture on Wednesday.

Ten Hag believes in Rashford

The last time Manchester United won the Premier League was in 2013. The last time United won a major trophy was in 2017 when, under Jose Mourinho, they won the Europa League. It is their worst trophy drought in 40 years. Ten Hag believes the club is showing signs of bringing the ignominious record to an end.

Ten Hag has praised Rashford for his performance this term. According to the Dutch manager, Rashford understands Man United is his club and that he is playing his best football. The former Ajax boss told reporters Rashford is improving and working on the good things. He praised him for giving 100% energy, and the team could help him bring out his best.

Ten Hag hopes the club would extend his contract amid rumours that Paris Saint-Germain was interested in signing him. The reports are unfounded, as PSG never showed legitimate interest in the England international.
