Anan Khalaili Set for €26.5m Inter Milan Transfer

Inter Milan are on the verge of completing one of the most intriguing deals of the European summer window, with Anan Khalaili expected to finalise his move from Union Saint-Gilloise by Thursday. The proposed outline would see the Nerazzurri pay 23.5 million euros up front, with a further three million euros in bonuses taking the potential package to 26.5 million euros.

The Israel international winger has been Inter's priority target on the right flank all summer, with the club searching for a long term successor after Denzel Dumfries completed his move to Real Madrid. Negotiations between the two clubs have accelerated dramatically over the past 48 hours, and there is now strong optimism in both Italy and Belgium that all documentation will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Once the paperwork is signed off, Khalaili is expected to undergo his medical before officially putting pen to paper at San Siro.

Why Inter Moved for Khalaili

Inter have not been alone in tracking the 21 year old. Napoli agreed personal terms with the player earlier in the window before club to club talks stalled over the fee, while Como tabled a loan proposal with an obligation to buy. Premier League interest also gathered pace, with Aston Villa, Everton, Brighton and Leeds United all monitoring his situation in recent weeks.

That competition explains why Inter have pushed so hard to close the deal quickly. Sporting director Piero Ausilio's recruitment team identified Khalaili as the ideal profile for the right side: young, proven in European competition, and versatile enough to operate as a winger or a more conservative wide option.

Khalaili is understood to have agreed a five year contract, with wages rising over the course of the deal.

Khalaili's rise has been remarkably quick. A product of the Maccabi Haifa academy, he moved to Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth around 6.5 million euros, a fee that made him one of the most expensive Israeli players in history at the time.

In Belgium he developed into one of Europe's most sought after young wide players. Last season he contributed three goals and five assists as Union lifted the Coupe de Belgique, beating Anderlecht 3-1 in the final in May, and he gained valuable experience in the Champions League league phase, including an appearance against Newcastle United.

For Union Saint-Gilloise, the deal represents outstanding business: a return of roughly four times their initial outlay after just two seasons.

What Happens Next

All that remains is the final exchange of documents between the clubs. If everything proceeds as expected, Khalaili will travel to Milan for his medical, sign his contract, and become the latest addition to an Inter squad preparing to defend their Serie A title.
