The two clashed during the North London derby thanks to Ramsdale exchanging jabs with the Spurs fans who were giving him stick during the game.
Richarlison challenged the Arsenal goalkeeper for disrespecting the Spurs fans and there was some shirt pulling and shoving involved. The incident also led to a Spurs fan, Joseph Watts, climbing over the advertisement boards to kick the 24-year-old goalkeeper.
Watts will be arraigned in court for “assault by beating, going onto an area adjacent to playing area and throwing a missile onto a football playing area” on February 17 and could face a heavy sentence for his actions. He has also received a lifetime stadium ban from Tottenham Hotspur for trying to cause harm to a visiting player.
However, Richarlison, from who the whole incident originated, will not be facing any charges after the FA deemed his actions to not be in violation of any of their rules.
The incident was also properly managed by referee Craig Pawson, which led to the FA choosing not to pursue any disciplinary actions against the 25-year-old Brazil international.
Richarlison watched from the bench as Arsenal stomped to a 2 – 0 scoreline against his team, which he joined in the summer from Everton. He was given a run in the last 15 minutes of the game to gain some match fitness as he was just returning from injury.
He was also on the bench as Spurs took to the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City, but came on in the 78th minute to help his team salvage a point.
He could not do much, however, as City finished the game with an impressive comeback win from two goals down to end the night as 4 – 2 winners.
Antonio Conte will be worried about the state of his club. However, he will be relieved that Richarlison, whose brilliant goal won the award for goal of the 2022 World Cup and who had two nominations on that list as well as a nomination for the upcoming Puskas award, is fit and ready for action again.
However, he has three Premier League assists from 11 games so far, and two goals for the club in the UEFA Champions League. He will be vital to Conte as the Italian prepares to salvage their season, so they do not drop into the UEFA Europa League at the end of the season.
