Norwich City Premier League Appearances: Key Facts

The 2011 generation dominates the list. Three of the top four, Russell Martin (125), John Ruddy (117) and Wes Hoolahan (112), all made their Premier League debuts on the opening day of 2011-12, on 13 August 2011. Promoted under Paul Lambert, that side stayed up for three straight seasons, and Martin, Ruddy and Hoolahan were still in the team when Norwich made their final appearance of the 2015-16 campaign.

The founder members of 1992-93. Norwich finished third in the first Premier League season, and that squad supplies much of the top ten. Mark Bowen (119), Ian Crook (106), Bryan Gunn (104) and John Polston (96) all made their debuts on the opening weekend in August 1992. Chris Sutton made 79 appearances before leaving in 1994 and remains the club’s record Premier League scorer, as our Norwich City Premier League top goalscorers list shows.

The longest-serving centurion. Alex Tettey’s 101 appearances spanned nearly eight years, from September 2012 to July 2020, the widest gap between first and last game of any Norwich player to reach 100.

The most recent era. From the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons, Teemu Pukki leads the way with 73 appearances, ahead of Max Aarons (70), Kenny McLean (68) and Tim Krul (65).
