115 charges of financial misconduct doesn’t stop City’s spending spree. Premier League fans have had front row seats in the drama between Manchester City and the League authorities that have accused the club of breaking its financial rules.
The club was recently hit with charges of financial breaches over the past decade in a row that could end up in court – after confirmation the Manchester outfit will take up the matter with relevant bodies.
It won’t be the first time City have been accused of financial breaches but the severity of the current charges means it could be consequential, if they are indeed found guilty.
The matter has died down over recent days but remains looming in the background and would still come up at some point before the campaign runs out.
Away from the controversy surrounding, City continue to spread their wings and remind everyone once again about their financial muscle.
The City group have always expressed their desire to expand beyond current numbers and plans to do just that have now hit full swing

One would have expected City to lay so, given the current circumstances but what do they do? Clearly, the club isn’t panicking over the accusations because it looks like business as usual over at the Etihad. City football group are reportedly in the process of adding to the number of football clubs it owns around the world with the purchase of EC Bahia.
In response to the charges against the club, Manchester City have made clear their intent to challenge the allegations against the club, and are confident enough to say the club will ‘look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.’
Pep Guardiola has defended his club in the face of the huge punishment that may result from the allegations, he said: “We were not part of the establishment, they can do it but the only thing I regret is that they should let us have the chance to defend ourselves.”
“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but it didn’t happen. Who is going to return the damage (caused by) the articles.”
It seems that the City owners are just as confident as Pep in dealing with the charges, and their move to purchase EC Bahia all but confirms it.
Should City go on to purchase Bahia FC, it would make the Brazilian outfit the 12th club under the ‘City Group’ umbrella.
Bahia FC currently lead the way in the Campeonato Baiano, with 21 points, five points more than second-placed Juazeirense after eight games played.
