Tottenham Hotspur Away Strips 1899-2010
An illustrated guide to all of Tottenham Hotspur's away and third strips from 1899-2010.
The earliest records of Tottenham's change colours are the chocolate and gold striped shirts with navy shorts first worn during the 1899-1900 season. A similar strip, but using hoops instead of stripes, was worn against the German FA team on January 8th 1901.
Tottenham's change strip from season 1921-22 was blue and white strips which soon gave way to blue and white hoops. For much of the 1960's navy blue shirts were mostly used until yellow was introduced in 1967 and remained until the light blue away shirts of 1982.
A bewildering array of colours were used for the away and third strips from the 1990s onwards with the special edition chocolate and gold strip of 2006 proving very popular as it revived a far earlier pre-Football League colour scheme used by Tottenham Hotspur.
