Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is expected to be sidelined until mid-November due to a hamstring injury. The Brazilian international sustained the injury during Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. Alisson was forced off the field in the 79th minute, with Vitezslav Jaros stepping in to finish the match.

Liverpool’s medical team has indicated that Alisson is unlikely to return to action before the upcoming international break in mid-November, scheduled between November 11-19. In the meantime, the Premier League leaders are preparing for a series of crucial fixtures across multiple competitions without their first-choice keeper.

Caoimhin Kelleher, who missed the Crystal Palace game due to illness, is expected to take over goalkeeping duties during Alisson’s absence. Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed Kelleher’s status as the second-choice goalkeeper, noting his preference for the Irishman over Jaros when Alisson was previously unavailable in September.

Kelleher has already proven capable of stepping into the role this season, featuring in wins against Bournemouth in the Premier League and West Ham in the Carabao Cup. Slot expressed confidence in Kelleher’s abilities, stating that his past performances have solidified his position as Alisson’s understudy.

Liverpool face a demanding schedule while Alisson recovers, with important matches in both the Premier League and Champions League. The Reds will take on top-flight teams including Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa. In Europe, they are set to play RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, as well as Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Following the international break, Liverpool’s first match will be against Southampton on November 24. Their schedule doesn’t ease up after that, with upcoming games against Real Madrid, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and a Merseyside derby against Everton in quick succession.
