David de Gea’s penalty-saving brilliance was the difference for Fiorentina as they claimed a thrilling 2-1 win over AC Milan in Serie A. The 33-year-old Spaniard, who joined Fiorentina in August, pulled off two remarkable penalty saves. First, he dived low to deny Theo Hernandez in the first half, and then, in the second half, he leapt to his right to thwart Tammy Abraham from the spot.

De Gea’s crucial stops helped secure Fiorentina’s second league victory of the season, with Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsson finding the net for the home side. Christian Pulisic briefly drew Milan level, but De Gea’s standout performance ensured all three points for the hosts.

The match was full of action, with Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan also saving a penalty from Moise Kean. The game’s intensity reached a boiling point in the final minutes, as Fiorentina’s manager, Raffaele Palladino, was sent off. To add to the drama, Milan’s Hernandez was shown a red card after the final whistle.

Elsewhere, Scott McTominay scored within 25 seconds to set Napoli on their way to a 3-1 win over Como, keeping them top of the table. Romelu Lukaku also netted, helping Napoli maintain a two-point gap over Inter Milan. Marcus Thuram’s hat-trick guided Inter to a narrow 3-2 victory against Torino.

Juventus, however, dropped points after conceding their first goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Cagliari. Despite Dusan Vlahovic’s penalty giving them an early lead, Razvan Marin’s late spot-kick denied Juventus the win. Juventus coach Thiago Motta lamented his team’s loss of intensity after taking the lead, admitting it cost them the victory.
