England have never won the UEFA European Championship. They came close at Euro 2020, entering the tournament with high hopes of securing their first title. Their second-best performance remains their 3rd-place finish in 1968. England also reached the semi-finals in 1996, though no 3rd-place match was played that year.

The Euro 2020 final between Italy and England took place on 11 July 2021, where England reached the final but lost to Italy 3–2 on penalties.
