FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Finals Tournament
FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Finals Tournament
The 2018 FIFA World Cup is the 21st tournament and is taking place in Russia from 14th June to 15th July 2018. This is the first time that Russia or any Eastern European nation has hosted the competition.
32 countries' teams will take part in the finals tournament, playing in 11 cities throughout Russia. This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since 2006; all but one of the stadium venues are in European
Russia, west of the Ural Mountains to keep travel time manageable. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15th July in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.
Germany are the defending champions, having defeated Argentina 1–0 after extra time in the 2014 World Cup Final in Brazil.
