Ahead of their next Premier League game, Antonio Conte claims he is happy at Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Italian manager refused to give any assurances about his future with the north Lonon club.

Looking to banish the memories of Jose Mourinho and label him a flop, Tottenham hailed Antonio Conte as the messiah. They quickly described him as the best since sliced bread following his initial success at the club. It is understandable following the disastrous cameo by his predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo.

Every victory was celebrated like a massive conquest and used as a dagger to stab Jose Mourinho. The advancement into the top four led many to believe that Spurs could win the Premier League. Such an achievement would immortalize Antonio Conte with the north London side. Antonio Conte brought a new belief to the club.

The scales may have started falling off the eyes of many fans. It is no longer smooth sailing for the north London side, with things unravelling at the club. The World Cup brought to a halt the solid run of Tottenham, and the return of the Premier League has not come with the desired results for the club. Conte may have put some spanners in the works after revealing he may not be at Tottenham for the long haul.

Conte is happy at Tottenham but not sure of future

Tottenham have not won any game since the resumption of the Premier League. It has caused some worries among its fans, especially with the north London club dropping out of the top four. They are now five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. The latest developments have caused a few worries at the club.

Ahead of their next game against Crystal Palace, Conte refused to give any assurances about his long-term future at the club. Addressing the media ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park, Conte declared that he is happy at the club.

However, the long-term future of the Italian at the club is far from certain. The statement left a few worried faces among the fans who have come to adore the former Juventus manager.

Conte also said that the uncertainty of his future with the club is a problem. The Italian sparked more controversy with his latest comments. In the aftermath of a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on New Year Day. He said it was crazy to consider Spurs as title contenders. He also claims that Tottenham needed big-money acquisitions to compete at the highest level.

Conte creates a tense atmosphere in Tottenham

Perhaps now, Tottenham fans will understand the magnitude of the problem at the club. They should accept Jose Mourinho was not the problem and that the issues at the club run deep. It is hard to turn a bunch of losers who have not won anything in many years into winners. Unfortunately, it is what Tottenham are – a team without a winning mentality.

Conte has a contract that expires at the end of the season and is a problem. The Italian is unsure of how to plan, not knowing if he will be around beyond this season. Responding to questions about remaining at Spurs for the long haul, Conte replied it is an issue between him and the club. He declared that he remains committed to the club.

Conte spoke of the project and the contract he signed with the club. He said he had to accept it and help build the project. According to Conte, during the process, a thousand things could happen. He posited that the club could sack the manager, or there are different visions and situations.

Meanwhile, Tottenham take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.
