Brazil are through to the round of 16 after a 1-0 win over Switzerland. Gary Neville believes the Samba Boys are in a solid position to win the tournament.

The big question is – who will win the World Cup? Many pundits have had their say on the topic, but the final is still three weeks away. After two rounds of matches, it is safe to say the teams with the highest chance of winning the tournament.

Argentina, Brazil and France were listed as the top dogs to win the World Cup in Qatar. Others are Spain, the Netherlands, Croatia and Portugal, with the omens still working in favour of the listed teams. Brazil, France and Portugal are already through to the round of 16. Spain, Argentina, the Netherlands and Croatia are one game away from sailing joining them.

Brazil is the only team yet to concede a goal at the World Cup. The Selecao Carninho won their first two games against Serbia and Switzerland 2-0 and 1-0 and have looked impressive so far. Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, now a pundit, believes Brazil is in a good place to win the World Cup.

Brazil among top favourites to win the World Cup

With the group stage coming to its conclusion, the wheat is getting separated from the chaff. The final group stage matches are on the cards, and the desperation to make the round of 16 is heightened. A few top teams are on the verge of exiting the tournament.

Gary Neville believes he has seen enough to make a call on who wins the World Cup. Neville believes the Tite-led Brazil can take on other elite sides in the knockout rounds. In a chat with ITV, Neville said the Samba boys could reach the World Cup final and win.

Neville said he thought Spain vs Germany was the best game of the tournament, but he thinks Brazil can raise their level against such quality of opposition. According to Neville, Brazil is in a good place. They have shown they can defend well and have the ability to change games by injecting some urgency. The former Manchester United defender has massive quality off the bench.

Brazil look like a complete side

Brazil managed the game against Switzerland and is in the last 16. With an injured Neymar, the Samba boys showed their depth in quality, with the former Real Madrid midfielder scoring a superb goal after 83 minutes to give them the win. The win is their second after their 2-0 victory over Serbia, where Richarlison scored two goals.

Brazil looks like a complete side. They have shown they can defend well and are patient in attack. They have yet to concede a goal and did not give away a shot on target against the Swiss. Brazil plays their last group game against Cameroon on Friday. The Indomitable Lions need a win to stand a chance of making it to the round of 16.

Brazil sits top of the table with the maximum points from two games. Meanwhile, Neymar and Danilo are both set to miss the game against Cameroon. The PSG star suffered a sprained ankle in their opening game, with full-back Danilo also in recovery.
