Phil Foden has signed a three-year contract extension at Manchester City that keeps him at the club till the summer of 2027. The new contract sees the England international tripling his weekly wages to over £200,000.

The city of Manchester has red and blue sides. The Red Devils dominated play, winning all the trophies in town while the blue half looked on. Things are different now as the tide has changed in favour of Manchester City.

While poor decisions have been the hallmark of Manchester United, culminating in poor results, Manchester City has made better decisions. They have been logical in player recruitment, with their reward system top-notch. The Citizens do not sign players or reward them arbitrarily.

In Manchester United, players like Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire are on high wages despite not meriting it. Over on the other side of the city, the Citizens have just given Phil Foden a new contract that reflects his performance on the pitch for the club.

Phil Foden signs new contract with Manchester City

The youngster has been a phenom for Manchester City. The Englishman was phenomenal in recent years and attracted the attention of clubs across Europe. Signing a player from Manchester City is like searching for the Unicorn.

With eyes on Phil Foden, the 22-year-old has elongated his stay at the Etihad. The England international signed a contract extension that will keep him at Man City till the summer of 2027, with the club expressing delight at the performance of the academy graduate.

The new contract signed by Foden triples his current wages at the club. It is a three-year contract that sees Foden earning over £200,000 per week. Foden now becomes one of the highest earners at the Etihad.

It is a thing of pride for Foden to continue at the club where he started as a youngster. The England international has been with the club since 2008 as a child. The success of the young lad is a delight for the locals to have their home-grown talent as one of the best young players in the world.

A success story for Manchester City

Manchester City announced the contract extension with a video featuring clips of a young Foden starring for underage groups for a club where he was also a mascot and a ball boy.

An excited Foden said he could not say how excited he was signing a contract extension with the Citizens.

The 22-year-old said it was a dream come true and claimed to have been a fan of the club all his life. Foden trained at the club for many years and was a ballboy.

Director of Football Txiki Begiristain expressed their pride in Foden and what he has achieved with the club. Begiristain believes there is more to come from the young lad. He said Foden has natural talent and ability, but his hard work, professionalism and dedication make him different from his peers.

Begiristain concludes that Foden loves football more than anything and has an incredible desire to improve. He believes Foden can get better, and the new contract gives him stability and allows him to focus.

Foden thanked everyone at the club, claiming he would not be here today without them.
