Teammate Kevin de Bruyne and Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo are players who are also on high wages. Jadon Sancho and David de Gea are also high earners in the Premier league.

Guardiola denies the clause in Haaland’s contract

The performances of Erling Haaland have attracted more attention from all over Europe. The Norwegian striker allegedly has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Man City for Real Madrid after two years. The news has circulated far and wide, but Pep Guardiola says there is no substance to the rumours.

The former Barcelona manager claims that no such clause exists and dismissed reports of Real Madrid already considering triggering the clause. The reports claim that the forward has a release clause of £174m in his City deal, but Guardiola was unequivocal in his denial of its existence.

Haaland has scored 14 goals in eight Premier League games and another five in three Champions League matches. Haaland was signed by the Citizens this summer for an initial £51m, which could rise to £85.5m.
