Guimaraes is keen to become a Newcastle legend but might find the overtures of Chelsea and Real Madrid too strong to resist.

Newcastle rebuffed interest from the Gunners in the summer.

Newcastle United is having a fantastic season. The Toons have gone from a side fighting against relegation to one challenging for a place in the top four. The club is recognised as the richest in England but has not flexed its financial might but has gotten top-rated players by most standards.

Eddie Howe has also done a decent job moulding the team into a formidable side. Not in a long time has Newcastle found itself in this position. The current situation at the club has seen many clubs take notice of what is happening at St James Park. Newcastle is building solid blocks for the future.

With the brilliant performances of its players, Newcastle has shown the football elite they are ready for a higher form of war. Among the Newcastle players that have shone brightly is Bruno Guimaraes, with the Brazilian courted by some of Europe’s top clubs.

Real Madrid and Chelsea want Bruno Guimaraes

When Newcastle went after Bruno Guimaraes, nobody took notice. He was perhaps seen not to be at the level to play for the elite clubs in the game, but week in and week out, the Brazilian has shown his talent can shine at any level. He has made the £40million the Magpies paid for him in January look like chicken change. Let’s suffice it to say that Guimaraes has been brilliant at Newcastle.

Newcastle has serious ambitions. The club with Saudi-backed owners have Manchester City, Liverpool and the other top English clubs in their sights. They currently sit fifth in the Premier League, but speculations that Guimaraes could leave for a top club are rife. Newcastle refused an Arsenal bid after an approach for the Brazilian midfielder.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have links to the Brazilian. Chelsea is eager to bring Guimaraes to Stamford Bridge as soon as possible, but the 24-year-old has no plans to leave St. James Park. Guimaraes told Sky Sports he feels at home and has an exciting experience at Newcastle.

Settled at St James Park

Guimaraes spoke of his experience at St James Park so far. He said it is difficult to leave his house because everybody recognises him. The Brazilian midfielder said the fans are friendly and loving with him and everyone in his family.

About the interest by top European clubs, Guimaraes said it is nice that his talents are recognised, with teams interested in his services, but he plans to do his best at Newcastle. He claims everything concerning his future is up to his agent.

Guimaraes has about four years left on his contract, and he seems settled at Newcastle. Guimaraes is not worried about his future. All he seems to care about now is Newcastle and the World Cup.

Guimaraes is in top form and hopes it is enough to earn him a spot in the Brazil squad for the World Cup next month in Qatar. He has offensive and defensive capabilities. Since his Premier League debut, Guimaraes ranks second among all players for tackles, successful duels and fouls won. Guimaraes is also third for dribbles completed and fourth for through-balls.
