Roma sign Georgino Wijnaldum on loan

According to latest reports, Roma have just sealed the signing of former Liverpool Midfielder, Georginio Wihnaldum, on loan. The Dutchman who signed for PSG last season, made a total of 37 appearances across all competitions, while clutching his first Ligue 1 title in the club.

Further reports also reveal that there is a buy clause in the loan deal following the 2022/2023 season.

After the news of his loan transfer became public knowledge, Wijnaldum took to social media to express his excitement over joining the Italian side.

“It’s a really good feeling to be a Roma player. Everyone I have spoken to has given me great feedback about the club and its fans.

“The club made it clear just how much they wanted me in the efforts they made to complete the deal, which always gives a player a lot of confidence and belief. The reception from the supporters, on social media and elsewhere, has also been fantastic.

“I promise to give 100% and help the team compete for all our targets this season.”

Roma – A team to watch out for in the 2022/2023 season

With the transfer moves in the summer markets, Roma proved to mean business ahead of the coming season.Mourinho has initiated the transfer of top stars like Paulo Dybala, Nemanja Matic, Zeki Celik and Mile Svilar.

These players, added to the reinforcements in the team, already makes the I Giallorossi a team to watch out for in the coming season.

Mourinho, who made a record as the first coach to win the Europa Conference League, seems to be on the path to outdoing himself next season as the team got promoted to playing in the Europa League.

The players also appear to be excited over their move to Roma which is not surprising giving the warm reception they have received since joining the club.

In particular, Paulo Dybala was welcomed as a King on his unveiling day and was said to be already making big bucks for Roma after he surpassed Ronaldo’s record in shirt sales over a 24 hour period. That is indeed some feat.

Given all that has played out in Roma so far, there is a whole lot expected of the team come next season and fans can only expect the players meet up to the hype.

To sum it all up, Roma have a manager in Jose Mourinho who knows all about winning. The Portuguese is a serial winner and has already delivered on his promise of winning a title for Roma after leading them to the UEFA Conference League triumph in his debut season at manager.

Another interesting campaign in the Serie A lies in wait and all eyes will be on Roma as one of the top candidates to watch.
