Juventus have met with the entourage of Memphis Depay as the Italian side look to sign the player on a free transfer. The Dutchman has found himself on the periphery of Los Blaugrana and is open to join a big club.

With the La Liga season about to start, Barcelona are racing against time as they strive to register their players for the upcoming season. The Catalan giants have had to activate several levers as they sold part of their assets to buy quality players and be competitive again.

Despite the activation of these levers, Barcelona can still not register their players as they need to create room in their squad. They have to cut salaries and sell some players, but it has been easier said than done. Some players have refused to leave, and reducing their wages has proven a headache.

One player that has refused to leave the Nou Camp is Frenkie de Jong, following his deferred salaries. Manchester United are interested in the player, but De Jong is not keen on the move. Barcelona are making headway ahead of the fourth lever. Memphis Depay is ready to leave the Catalan giants with clubs showing plenty of interest in the Dutchman.

Depay to leave Barcelona

Barcelona have been active in this transfer window, with a lot happening for the Catalan giants. It has been one massive maths game for Los Blaugrana as they seek to balance their books and register their players. Despite all the efforts to ensure everything ends well, Barcelona are still racing against time to get their new signings registered.

The club must sell some of their players, as they have player overload and have struggled to sell players. They have been successful in some areas but not so in others. The latest player on the exit list is Memphis Depay. The Dutchman has seen no place for him in this squad and is keen to leave. Italian giants Juventus are considering him as an option as per Gianluca DiMarzio.

Barcelona are working tirelessly to see that the deal sails through. Memphis Depay could leave as a free agent if the plans of the Catalan giants come to fruition.

Depay willing to move

Barcelona have signed so many attacking players that would limit the chances of game time for Memphis Depay. Following the signing of players like Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, the Dutchman has dropped further down the pecking order. It explains why Depay is open to the idea of exiting the Nou Camp. The only proviso for him is that the approach for his services must be from a top club.

Juventus have shown serious interest in the Dutchman and are willing to offer Depay a two-year contract.

Juventus want to pair Depay with Dusan Vlahovic, but their interest in him would only happen if he is coming on a free transfer. Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus have already met with his entourage.

The exit of Depay for Juventus makes sense on all levels for the concerned parties. It would also bring Barcelona closer to registering their new signings on time for the new season.
