Things have not entirely gone to script for Pogba. The French World Cup winner returned to Manchester United like a king and was supposed to lead them to a glorious era, but a lack of discipline helped derail his United career.

Things became so awry for him at Old Trafford that former United manager Jose Mourinho described him as a virus and wanted him sold. The club chose Pogba ahead of Mourinho, and despite their faith in the French midfielder, he never repaid it with performances on the pitch.

The France international had a torrid time at Old Trafford that eventually, the fans turned on him to signal the beginning of the end at the Theatre of dreams. Not all dreams come true, and for Pogba, he never became what he could be at Old Trafford. Leaving Manchester United for free at the end of last season was perhaps the best for all parties, but his second Juventus career is starting on a wrong note.

Injured Pogba will not start the season with Juventus

The new Serie A season is a few weeks away, and France international Paul Pogba will not begin the season with Juventus. The former Manchester United player copped an injury that should keep him on the sidelines for a while. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba would require surgery on the injury and could be out for the next two months. It means the earliest Pogba will turn out for Juventus this season is October.

The absence of Pogba for this period means he could miss nine matches, including the first group stage games of the Champions League. The latest setback for Pogba is an extension of the injury issues that wrecked his final year at Manchester United.
