FIFA and EA Sports have confirmed that Kylian Mbappe and Sam Kerr will feature on the front cover of FIFA 23.  Sam Kerr is the main surprise, but the Chelsea striker brings spice to the male-dominated sport and becomes the first woman to appear on the cover.

The FIFA EA game is a big brand enjoyed by fans across different age brackets. The game has been marketed in different ways and continues to generate interest in gamers who are in love with football. It is about as close as they can get to manage a team.

The game has seen many players grace its cover. Over the years, the game has witnessed top players on the planet grace its front cover. Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are some players who have appeared in the game.

A different face will dorn the cover for FIFA 23. It is all in line with the marketing strategy of the game and breaking new frontiers. Kylian Mbappe and Sam Kerr are the faces of FIFA 23.

FIFA 23 cover takes a twist

A female footballer will grace a global EA Sports cover for the first time. Female football is not as popular as their male counterparts but it is generating interest. Chelsea striker Sam Kerr has become the first woman to manage the feat of appearing on a global EA Sports cover.

The front cover of the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 has Sam Kerr as a feature. The Chelsea striker appears with PSG striker Kylian Mbappe.

The 2021-22 season was an outstanding one for 28-year-old Sam Kerr. She was the main feature on Emma Haye’s side as she won the Golden Boot in the Women’s Super League. The FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year also went to Kerr.

Kerr was unmistakable for Chelsea with a game-winning goal in the FA Cup final. She helped Chelsea complete a domestic double in a year that should remain memorable for her. She has been enjoying plenty of deserved accolades, which include being on the front cover of the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23.

Kylian Mbappe again

It is not new seeing Kylian Mbappe gracing the cover of FIFA 23. The French striker appears for the third consecutive year.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has become a force to be reckoned with in football. At just 23, Mbappe has grown in leaps and bounds and become a massive name in football. Many expect the French striker to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He scored 39 goals in all competitions for PSG in the last campaign.

The shenanigans of the ongoing transfer window are not news to football followers across the globe. The World Cup winner turned down a move to Real Madrid with a last-minute change of heart. He decided to go for a massive head-spinning contract at PSG. The Ligue 1 giants continue to pursue the Champions League, which has eluded them so far.

Mbappe has become an established name in football, with the French striker putting fear in defenders. It is not a surprise that FIFA has chosen him as the face of the latest edition.

According to FIFA, fans will get the opportunity to see the latest edition for the first time on Wednesday.
