Recent reports indicate that Barcelona are ready to move on from 22-year-old Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao in the summer.

Trincao, currently on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he has settled in nicely and is enjoying a good run of games as one of the important squad players, joined Barcelona from Portuguese Primera Liga side Sporting Braga in 2020.

He was used sparsely by then manager Ronald Koeman but never really managed to make a mark on the side. At the beginning of the 2021/22 season, Barcelona loaned him out to the Premier League as they hoped he would get some game time and become an important player for the side in the future.

Reports now indicate that Barcelona do not see their formerly highly-rated winger as part of Xavi Hernandez’s new-look side, and are ready to move on from him.

Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti, who broke the news, claims that Barcelona are looking to move Trincao on because Wolves, who got him on loan with an option to buy clause of £25 million, are not interested in the player.

Barcelona are also pursuing Leeds United winger Raphinha and are in talks with Ousmane Dembele to extend his contract, so will need the funds to finance these two moves.

As of now, Juanmarti reports that there are no suitors on the horizon for the winger, but Barcelona do not intend to keep him beyond this season.

Lewandowski agent pushing for Barcelona move

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is pushing for his client to move to Barcelona in the summer, according to reports.

News of Barcelona’s pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski has dominated the headlines over the past few days. The 33-year-old Polish international will be entering the final year of his contract with the German giants in 2023 and there are no reports that an extension is possible, despite Bayern’s wish to have Lewandowski put pen to paper on a new deal.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn, on Tuesday, claimed that the reports of Lewandowski leaving the Allianz Arena at the end of the season are rubbish and that he will stay the length of his current contract.

But Spanish outlet SPORT now reports that the striker’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is looking for a way out of Bayern.

SPORT claims that Zahavi’s relationship with the club has broken down since the failure of the club to negotiate properly for his other client, David Alaba, who joined up with Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer.

During those negotiations, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness called Zahavi a “greedy piranha”, which was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the super-agent.

It remains to be seen if Zahavi can get a deal for his client to go through this summer, but Bayern are fast realising that they could be losing Lewandowski for free next summer, which would definitely sit well with Zahavi.
