The English Premier League is one of the world’s most prestigious leagues and is home to some of the best players in the world. From Cristiano Ronaldo to Steven Gerrard, there have been plenty of impressive Premier League players over the years. But who are the greatest Premier League players of all time? Here is a list of the 5 most impressive Premier League players to ever play in England’s top division.
Thierry Henry
Thierry Henry is truly one of the Premier League’s greatest players. Originally a winger, Henry made the transition into a striker during his time at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger. His deadly ability in front of goal made him a living legend amongst the fanbase. His international career was just as impressive. He won the World Cup with France in 1998 and the European Cup in 2000.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is easily one of the most successful Premier League players of all time. He signed for Manchester United back in 2003 and spent six seasons at the club, winning three Premier League titles, one Champions League title, and one FA Cup. After leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid where he has since won four Champions League titles, two La Liga titles, and two Copa Del Rey titles. Ronaldo is also Portugal’s all-time top scorer and is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time.
Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard was without a doubt one of the most successful Liverpool players of all time. He signed for the club in 1998 and spent his entire career there, making over 700 appearances. Gerrard won one Champions League title, one FA Cup, three League Cups, and one UEFA Cup with Liverpool. He was also named PFA Player of the Year in 2006 and is widely considered to be one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney is the only player on this list to have played for both Manchester United and Everton. He signed for Manchester United in 2004 and spent 13 seasons there, winning five Premier League titles, one Champions League title, one Europa League title, and one FA Cup.
