How Many English Premier League Teams Have a Gambling Partnership

How many EPL teams have a gambling partnership

The link between gambling companies and the English Premier League (EPL) is growing increasingly stronger. It’s a logical partnership with football being the sport that you see the most coverage of when you go into a bookmakers or venture online.

10 of the 20 clubs in the EPL have shirt sponsorship from the gambling industry. However, the sponsorship deals aren’t restricted to a name or logo on a shirt. Other clubs have gambling companies as partners, including some of the top clubs in the country. For the new 2019/20 season, only Sheffield United have no gambling partner. Perhaps they just bet on snooker in that city.

The shirt sponsorship deals that are in existence for the 2019/20 season total around the £65m mark. That’s compared to the top figure of £64m that Chevrolet have given to Manchester United this season.

The highest shirt sponsorship deal is £10m, that’s from Betway to be featured on the shirts of West Ham United. The other nine clubs with the name of gambling companies on their shirts are: Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Betway are one of the more popular online bookmakers who also support an online casino too. It is an ever-increasing trend for a Sportsbook to offer a built in casino, there is a lot of choice available. It is always worth checking out online casinos in the uk – the basics before playing at a online casino.

As just mentioned though, sponsorship comes in many ways. Going to a football match isn’t just about going to watch the game. It’s not even about buying a pie or going posh and having some prawn sandwiches.

Now you can go to a football game and be placing bets too. The emergence of betting kiosks at EPL grounds gives fans the chance to add a bit of spice to the watching of a match. Whether it’s betting on the match result, who will score a goal or even how many corners there will be, a trip to a betting kiosk is becoming an essential part of a matchday. Cheering a goal is always a great moment, even better if it means you have some winnings to collect on your way out of the ground.

The top six can attract much more lucrative sponsorship deals from global names. However, that doesn’t mean they have no interest in gaining additional revenue from the gambling industry.

With the EPL getting so much global coverage, the link between football and gambling isn’t a surprising one. The top clubs have gambling partnerships that bring in even more money. Forming partnerships with betting companies is good for the fans too. They can receive exclusive offers that could help boost their winnings.

MarathonBet have a partnership with current EPL champions Manchester City. Arsenal have a deal with Vbet, while Tottenham have partnerships with Betway, Fun88 and William Hill. Manchester United used to have a deal with MoPlay but for the 2019/20 season, their gambling partner is Yabo Sport. It’s believed the deal is worth between £2 and £3m a season.

It seems likely more deals between EPL clubs and gambling companies will be established in the future as the game continues to expand commercially making deals attractive for both partners.
